As my world turns

So its been a crazy life for Djo. Yep. Simply Crazy. It feels like one day runs into the next. My kids are growing up way too fast. Anthony's baby teeth are starting to fall out, which by the way, I'm terrified of!!! I have an innate fear of wiggly teeth! *shudder* too many bad childhood memories of twisting, turning, and that slimy weird hole that you are left with after the tooth is set free. Ew ew ew!

Anyway, I digress. Lliam is starting to say more words, which is good because we can't understand a word this 2-1/2 yr old says!

Work is getting much more tolerable! YAY for work slowing down enough for me to take a break!

Scentsy continue to amaze me! I really should have joined a year ago when I was peskied by a friend! Is Peskied a work? I was pesked. Thank you Meghann! Christmas was fully funded by Scentsy parties and the paychecks thereof! WOOT

I am officially decorating for Christmas tonight! yes, I know, I'm a month late from all you other "Let's get Christmas on the ROAD!!!! Decorate!! Go GO GO!!! Its November!!!" Anyway, tree is going up, and all my silly things that go up with it.

We've rec'd some bad news lately. This momma cannot bear children anymore. *sniff* Too much scar tissue or something, I wasn't really paying attention after, "You cannot have kids anymore" Blah! Well, I was listening, you just don't want to know. Trust me. But on the bright side, Jos and I are going to be adopting a little girl in the next year or so. Now that is some sweet news.

Also, along with the above news...I have a fatty liver! Fat around and IN my liver. I guess my workout-o-holic 2009 wasn't so wonderful. I guess my sit-around-and-work-all-day diet just doesn't like me. So I have been DOCTOR ordered to lose at least 40 lbs, and keep it off for at least 2 years for the fat deposits to escape my liver. Good times. Ya know, in 2011 I'll really really be hot. I have to be! Doctor's orders!

Well, I think I've hit the bulk of "about me"'s lately....lets move on to other things.

My brother, Lance, was supposed to be in the MTC by Dec 8th, but since his VISA did not come in time, we are pushed back to Jan 19th. One more Christmas was his family. Not too shabby. He got his call July 17th....so this has been a long long LONG wait! poor guy.

My Sister, Kenndey, is pregnant, and we are waiting anxiously to find out the sex of the baby next week! Girl girl girl....I'm sending out girly vibes to her. Out of 9 nieces and nephews - 8 of them are boys! So we need more girls in the family.

Annnnd....my dog hasn't bitten me since April. So life is looking up!

Stolen from my friend Lisa

Interesting list of things to ponder:

1. I think part of a best friend's job should be to immediately clear your computer history if you die.

2. Nothing sucks more than that moment during an argument when you realize you're wrong.

3. I totally take back all those times I didn't want to nap when I was younger.

4. There is great need for a sarcasm font.

5. Really, how ARE you supposed to fold a fitted sheet?

6. Was learning cursive really necessary?

7. Map Quest really needs to start their directions on # 5. I'm pretty sure I know how to get out of my neighbourhood.

8. Obituaries would be a lot more interesting if they told you how the person died.

9. I can't remember the last time I wasn't at least kind of tired.

10. Bad decisions make good stories.

11. You never know when it will strike, but there comes a moment at work when you know that you just aren't going to do anything productive for the rest of the day.

12. Can we all just agree to ignore whatever comes after Blue Ray? I don't want to have to restart my collection...again.

13. I'm always slightly terrified when I exit out of Word and it asks me if I want to save any changes to my ten-page technical report that I swear I did not make any changes to.

14. "Do not machine wash or tumble dry" means I will never wash this - ever.

15. I hate when I just miss a call by the last ring (Hello? Hello? Crap!), but when I immediately call back, it rings nine times and goes to voice mail. What did you do after I didn't answer? Drop the phone and run away?

16. I hate leaving my house confident and looking good and then not seeing anyone of importance the entire day. What a waste.

18. I think the freezer deserves a light as well.

19. I disagree with Kay Jewellers. I would bet on any given Friday or Saturday night more kisses begin with Miller Light than Kay.

20. I wish Google Maps had an "Avoid Ghetto" routing option.

21. Sometimes, I'll watch a movie that I watched when I was younger and suddenly realize I had no idea what the heck was going on when I first saw it.

22. I would rather try to carry 10 over-loaded plastic bags in each hand than take 2 trips to bring my groceries in.

23. The only time I look forward to a red light is when I'm trying to finish a text.

24. I have a hard time deciphering the fine line between boredom and hunger.

25. How many times is it appropriate to say "What?" before you just nod and smile because you still didn't hear or understand a word they said?

26. I love the sense of camaraderie when an entire line of cars team up to prevent a jerk from cutting in at the front. Stay strong, brothers and sisters!

27. Shirts get dirty. Underwear gets dirty. Pants? Pants never get dirty, and you can wear them forever.

28. Is it just me or do high school kids get dumber &dumber every year?

29. There's no worse feeling than that millisecond you're sure you are going to die after leaning your chair back a little too far.

30. As a driver I hate pedestrians, and as a pedestrian I hate drivers, but no matter what the mode of transportation, I always hate bicyclists.

31. Sometimes I'll look down at my watch 3 consecutive times and still not know what time it is.

32. Even under ideal conditions people have trouble locating their car keys in a pocket, finding their cell phone, and Pinning the Tail on the Donkey - but I'll bet everyone can find and push the snooze button from 3 feet away, in about 1.7 seconds, eyes closed, first time, every time .

Never give me a hoot of Helium...ever

Debbie jo left her post up so im commondeering this blog. MWAHAHA
you, ladies and gentleman may call me lance, her evil little brother.

But being evil and kind-hearted at the same time has left me with some flaws. i cannot be both evil and nice at the same time, unless its with family.
and thus i cannot be evil while stealing a blog she left up on my computer.

A retreat in Arizona

I am so lucky.

Jos took me on a retreat trip to Phoenix, Arizona. He did some work for Rogers Oil and Gas, and they took some choice agents on this retreat, all expenses paid!

We were there from June 3-6th. Not long enough for me. We were welcomed with open arms as soon as we reached the resort on Camelback Mountain. It was gorgeous!! Here are some pictures of what we did and saw. Enjoy. I wish I was there again!

Where did May go?

I think somewhere in this month there was the month of May, I think, but I'm not sure.

Help me out here, what happened in May? OH yes!

For my birthday (May 7th) we drove to Vancouver, BC as a family for a friends wedding (that didn't happen when we got there, long happy story though). It was a fantastic weekend anyway.

We arrived in White Rock, BC May 6th, and just vegged for the night. In the morning we all boarded a ferry to the Island, and we enjoyed a sunny, wind-free day in Victoria. We picnicked at Beacon Hill Park, we visited the Royal BC museum (My FAVE of all the Museums out there, so far), and then hung out at the ferry terminal for 2 ferry sailings waiting to get back to the mainland to be back in time for the Vancouver Canucks game. We are HUGE fans! We ordered pizza, and I fell asleep at 9pm. Yes. I'm 32 now, and I'm old beans!

The next day was super fun too. I hung out with an old friend, and we let our kids play at the park across the street, and it was so nice to catch up and giggle like no time has passed. That night we hung out with the "bride and groom" who were supposed to be married that day, and I had a super tremendous time getting to know the Bride. She's an awesome lady, and I'm so happy to say that they are married now for time and all eternity! (as of last friday)

We went to church the next sunday in Langley, (our old stomping grounds) and surprised a few families. I just love surprising people! The weather was fantastic, and I couldn't ask for a better time!

We drove home the next day and it was fabulous with all the kids. They did great, and we had a blast driving! Really.

Hmmm what else happened in May?

I went to my first Passion Party...yes I purchased some fun stuff. I'm having my own Passion party soon! Oh I smell trouble!

The sunshine came out full force, and I loved soaking up every last minute of the sunshine! I loved it, especially now that its raining and gloomy and sad at the moment.

My new calling (Relief Society 2nd Councilor) makes me in charge over the Enrichment Activities, and I was in charge of our May 20th GO Green Night. I spoke for over 40 minutes on making home made cleaners, laundry detergent, and how to be more environmentally friendly. SUPER FUN night!

My youngest son, Lliam turned 2, May 24th!! IT was such a good day. We flew kites in the park, picnicked, and ate cupcakes. Then we poured some plasticine into moulds and we made garden stepping stones with the kids. Perfect day!

The next day, my youngest sister had her baby BOY, Patrick! He's adorable, and she and baby are doing excellent!

This weekend is my boss's 40th birthday party, and its going to be a wicked awesome party! All catered, and DJ'd, and wow, fun times to come!

Then NEXT WEEEKEND....

PHOENIX ARIZONA!!! WIll blog about that!

My Dog bites...literally.

My last Friday did NOT go as planned. AT.ALL. I was supposed to sit for Jury Duty at 9:15am on Friday, April 9th, 2010. WHY was I at Jury Duty? It was canceled the night before. So instead, I found myself lounging around the house, checking/stalking on Facebook, making breakfast for the kiddies, and planning to visit my old office at Cole to show the kids off. Excellent plan.

Around 10am, I waltzed out of the shower singing a happy tune. I thought I'd make it an extra special day, so I slathered on a facial mask. Thank you Dead Sea Minerals! As I robe my underwear-clad body, I realize that the clothes I want to wear are in the laundry room. So I've got wet hair, white facial mask, white robe, WHITE underwear-wearing going on, and I notice the dogs outside have knocked over the dirty diaper garbage can and going to town, face-first into a full filled diaper! NOT COOL WITH ME! Frickedy ew!

I opened the door for some loud verbal scolding, and they both run away knowing they are in trouble. I SNAP! "No one runs away from meeee" So (think of what I'm already wearing) I grab the closest pair of shoes, my husbands BIG CLUNKY running shoes. I slip them on with ease, and proceed to give the dogs their much needed scolding. As I approach them, they knew they were in trouble. Neither of them would come to me. HAHA, who would?! So I approached...Ozzie ran away, and Toby just stood there and shook. I went to grab his collar, and he lunged up at my hand and grabbed it with his sharp, not quite puppy-any-more teeth. His teeth punctured pretty deep into the fleshy part of my palm. Right down to a vein.

Pictures please....turn away if you are like me, and faint.

I know it doesn't look THAT bad...but it bled like no tomorrow....6 hrs for it to stop bleeding.

I had learned a survival technique from someone, that if you are "experiencing" a dog bite and can't get the dog to stop chomping, you shove your hand deep down his throat. So I did. He gagged. My hand came free. With my freshly bitten hand, and my adrenalin pumping body, I pick him up (by his collar, he's small don't worry) and took him to his cage.

Time to breathe and assess.

Oh SHOOT! I'm now dripping from my hand. I instantly go into panic mode. I went upstairs, washed the wound, and *almost* passed out. Deeeeep! ew. So I called Jos and left a VM, and with my panicked voice, he can't understand a word I say. So, no call back. So now I call my brother and his girlfriend...I'm feeling rather weak, and ready to passsss....out. I found the number, dialed, and from then on, no one could understand my crying/panic voice. They found me on the ground in the kitchen. Not the first of my faintings. Apparently, I fainted 4 times.

After Miranda and Lance dressed me...yes, I was still underwear-clad, and yes, its awkward for your little brother to put your shirt on, and wiggle your jeans on over your butt! We went to the the hospital to get it checked out.

After a 5 hour wait, we were seen. The doctors were more concerned with the fact that Toby was face first in a dirty diaper before he bit me. Yuck...poo hand. So they chose not to freeze me, and performed a "High Pressure Irrigation" to each puncture wound. Imagine a syringe filled with water, and then forcefully squirted into each hole in your hand. Nice. My hand filled with water. So.Gross. 1 Tetanus shot later, and 5 days of antibiotics, I was on my way. No Stitches needed...and since I'm highly allergic to band-aids, I'm a bandage wearin' chic.

We have not decided yet on what to do with Toby. He's not a bad dog. He's just not a dog that pees when he's scared, he bites. I either need to get some massive help with training...(apparently watching Cesar Milan isn't enough) and find out HOW to discipline without getting a bite. He has not bit the kids...only the adults at least twice!

So...I went to a GNO with the ladies from my church. Super fun! Then I went and saw "Date Night" with a good friend.

The next day was also Girl Night Out with some ladies from work. EPIC night! Mani's/Pedi's, appys, karaoke!!! Out till 5am! I'm too old for that, but it was a top night fo sho! Here are some pics.

I'm the red toes.

We made a pit stop to my bosses house in Bearspaw, isn't his view gorgeous?
